Region I Report - October 2007  The National Recreation Committee continues its partnership with the National Coaching Committee.

The next Coaching DVD being produced will be a two volume set of Technical Skills for U6 thru U14 players. Included will be sections on how to trap, shoot, dribble, pass and so on. All the footage was filmed in August and the current status is in the editing room. There is also a companion book that is in the process of final editing. The DVD is expected to be ready for sale at the US Youth Soccer Workshop in Pittsburgh.

Next up for next year is a two volume set of Tactical Skills for U6 thru U14. It will deal with how to work with others and some game mechanics. Another companion book will be included as well.

I e-mailed the recreation contact person in each Region I state association an outline of a Recreational Accreditation Program being proposed by Region II. We will be discussing this proposal in the Recreation breakout meeting on Sunday. The National Recreation Committee is looking for your feedback on this program.
