Presidents Cup

 

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to US Youth Soccer teams from the state to regional to national level.  The Presidents Cup gives players an additional opportunity to compete against teams from across the country at a high level for the joy and the challenge of the game.  It provides the chance to experience a unique US Youth Soccer event with camaraderie, community and competition through sport.  This competition is not for teams that expect to advance in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

The Region I Presidents Cup will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 28-31, 2010 in Saratoga Springs, NY.  The US Youth Soccer President Cup Finals in July 2010.

General Guidelines

Team Eligibility: Only a US Youth Soccer organization member can apply to compete in the Region I Presidents Cup.  A team cannot be sponsored by a US Youth Soccer Member. Any US Youth Soccer club or organization that attempts to sponsor a non US Youth Soccer team is subject to disciplinary action and dismissal of the sponsored team.

Regional Competition Entry Fee: $500 per team

Age Groups: Under 13, Under 14, Under 15, Under 16, and Under 17 both Boys and Girls

Rosters: Rosters for teams participating in the Presidents Cup will not be frozen until the team’s State Association freezes rosters for National Championship play or 72 hours before first Presidents Cup game which ever comes first.

Guest Players: Guest Players will NOT be allowed on any teams participating in the Region I Presidents Cup competition at any level.

Application Procedures: Each State Association will determine its own application procedure and fees for their competition.

Referee Fees: The three (3) referee system will be used for all games. Fees will be announced at a later date.

Payment of Referee Fees: Each team will be responsible for bringing their half of the referee game fee to the field. A team that fails to pay their half of the referee fees will be fined $250.

Forfeit Fees: Any team forfeiting game will be fined $500 and will also pay the entire referee fee of the forfeited game.  The team will not advance to the next round of competition.

Application: The deadline date to enter will be specified by each State Association.  Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be done by your State Association

Game Availability: All accepted teams must make themselves available for ALL Presidents Cup Games. Game schedules will be published by the Cup Administrator and will not be changed within 72 hours of the start of the scheduled match.

Teams must recognize that the Region I Presidents Cup becomes your primary focus. Teams are expected to play the published Presidents Cup schedule in preference to any other league competition in which they may be entered.  This requirement also applies to tournaments that the team may enter.  If your team is not prepared to play the published Cup schedule, your team should not enter the Presidents Cup.
