Austin Inter Regional
2004 US Youth Soccer
Boys ODP Thanksgiving Interregional Event

The Austin Inter Regional event is the first time that the 2004 Region I boys ODP teams will have an opportunity to compete against ODP teams from other regions.  The event begins November 25 and runs through November 30 with training and games every day. The event takes place in Austin, Texas. The Region I teams that will be participating are the regional teams at 1990, 1988 and 1987 age groups. Two US Boys National Teams will also compete.

During the week, teams will have rigorous training and will be under the watchful eyes of the US National Team coaches and many college coaches.  Players that excel here are named to the youth national pools while the regional teams and the national teams compete for the "fictitious" gold medal or bragging rights for the event.

The event also presents the opportunity for US Youth Soccer to select the adidas® All American Teams at these age groups that will represent US Youth Soccer in upcoming events

This event is one of the many events offered to players who compete in the US Youth Soccer ODP Program.  The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program was formed in 1977 to identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition; to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels; and, through the use of carefully selected and licensed coaches, develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of coaching.
