Region I vs Region II
Score: 0 - 0Game conditions: It was clear, sunny with temperatures approximately in the low-mid 50s. The weather was an overall factor in the entire game.
The first half of the game was play with the wind at their backs. Unfortunately despite having this advantage the score at the end of the first half was 0-0. One of the best chances to score during the first half was an attempted header by Shannon Williams which was very well saved by the Region II goalkeeper.
Going into the second half Region I was playing against the wind. Despite this disadvantage they were able to create a lot of opportunities and carried the play for most of the half.
Early in the second half, Walter Hines tested the Region II keeper with an exceptional shot. We continued to dominate the game offensively. Shots were fired by Vincenzo Bernado and Yannick Salmon whose shot hit the crossbar.
The entire team performed extremely well despite the adverse weather conditions. Christopher Lebo and Matthew Uy were solid in defense and Dave MacVane did a great job at keeping the ball in the midfield.

Region I made several attempts to score during the first half, but they were unlucky and at the end of the first half of play the score was an even 0-0.
During the second half Region I made use of their offense. Early in the second half they moved the ball down the field into the right corner in Region III's territory. Christian Barreiro made a great cross in front of the goal and it was received by David MacVane who took his shot and put it into the goal making the score 1-0.
Not long after the first goal the team demonstrated how well they could move the ball down the field, and it was a pass from Walter Harris to Christian Barreiro that set up the next goal from about 10 yards out. Christian had a great shot that resulted in another goal. This shot made the score 2-0.
The final score of the match was 2-0.
Region I brought individuals to the tournament, but they left as a team. Their record during the tournament showed the other Regions in their age group that despite the numerous injuries our team incurred that we were able to rise above them and come together to dominate the bracket.
